Aam Aadmi Party’s senior leader and Jalandhar Central Halka in-charge, Nitin Kohli, has taken a visionary and socially responsible step by launching the impactful campaign titled “Jalandhar Padhao.” With a strong belief that meaningful change begins at the grassroots level, Nitin Kohli has positioned education as the cornerstone of his public service efforts in Jalandhar.
In a symbolic yet powerful gesture, Nitin Kohli presented notebooks, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, and complete stationery sets to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, choosing to replace the traditional bouquet culture with something purposeful and beneficial. By doing so, Nitin Kohli sent a clear message that public life should be guided by utility and social value rather than ceremonial formalities. This thoughtful gesture promotes his initiative of “Jalandhar Padhao” where Kohli highlights practical approach toward governance and community development. Nitin Kohli emphasized that the stationery items presented at the event will not remain symbolic offerings. Instead, under the framework of “Jalandhar Padhao,” Nitin Kohli has ensured that these educational materials will be distributed among children belonging to marginalized and economically weaker families. He clarified that the objective is not merely distribution, but empowerment, enabling children to continue their studies with dignity and adequate resources.
Speaking about the larger vision behind his initiative, Kohli stated that society must consciously move away from the conventional practice of presenting flower bouquets, which often carry little long-term value. According to Kohli, such practices should be replaced with gestures that directly contribute to social upliftment. He strongly advocated that every public event should become an opportunity to promote education, literacy, and equal opportunity.
Nitin Kohli further underlined that education is the most powerful instrument for social transformation. He reiterated that marginalized communities are not separate from society but form its very foundation. Nitin Kohli expressed his firm belief that a society can only be considered truly educated when every child, whether from a privileged background or an economically disadvantaged household, has equal access to learning opportunities.
Through “Jalandhar Padhao,” Kohli aims to build a culture where educational support becomes a collective responsibility. He called upon citizens, party workers, and social organizations to replicate and promote similar initiatives so that educational resources consistently reach those who need them most. He stressed that literacy should not remain a privilege but must become a universal right.
