

Major development initiatives worth ₹1.65 crore were launched in the Jalandhar Central constituency on Saturday, marking a significant push in local infrastructure and environmental improvement.
The projects include the construction of a modern green belt in the PAP area at a cost of approximately ₹99 lakh, a road development project worth ₹21 lakh in Ward No. 67, and road construction and upgradation works costing ₹45 lakh in Ward No. 30.
Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge Nitin Kohli stated that the aim is to accelerate the pace of development across the constituency. “Our focus is to enhance road connectivity, ensure cleaner surroundings, and improve the daily commuting experience for residents. These projects reflect the commitment to providing long-term benefits to the public,” he said.
Mayor Vaneet Dhir, who was present during the event, said that the initiatives contribute significantly to strengthening the city’s civic infrastructure. “The development of the green belt will support environmental sustainability, while the road projects will ease movement and provide relief to residents. The Municipal Corporation is continuously working to deliver quality infrastructure to the people of Jalandhar,” he added.
The inauguration programs saw participation from local leaders, officials, and community representatives. Prominent attendees included Mayor Vaneet Dhir, Sumit Sharma, Ajay Ladowali, Rajesh Barber, Pawan, Sumit, Gora, Pankaj, Jasbinder Jassi, Sudesh Gupta, Naresh Sharma, Braj Narang, CM Kalyan, Raman Kundra, Preet Vasudev, Shri Pathak, Prannath Joshi, Vijay Sharma, Candy Khanna, Kishan Lal Malik, Ashwani Kumar, Gaurav Uppal, Babbu Oberai, Ajay Chopra, and Naresh Sharma among others.
The projects are expected to improve environmental conditions, strengthen local road infrastructure, and support smoother and safer transportation across the constituency.
