Way of talking is an essential part of daily communications wherever you go. Saint Kabir says 'Speak such words that win hearts, soothe others, and bring peace to yourself'. To achieve this, choice of words becomes important. However, times have changed now.
People often use cuss words or profanities just to sound good and even express their feelings. Interestingly, a nationwide survey in India was recently conducted that studied states that use abusive language the most.
Guess What! Punjab secured second rank in the unwanted list.
As per Zee News, an 11-year-long survey conducted under the 'Gaali Band Ghar Abhiyan' led by Professor of Practice Dr. Sunil Jaglan in Rohtak. The study included nearly 70,000 participants from various walks of life, mostly from Northern and Eastern belt with majority who speaks or understand Hindi or its variants.
Based on the findings, the survey ranked states i.e. Most Abusive States of India. Check the list below
1) Delhi (Union Territory)
The study found that 80 percent of people in Delhi use cuss words during their conversations.
2) Punjab
Punjab ranks number with 78% using profane language during their language.
3) Uttar Pradesh
Interestingly, Uttar Pradesh ranks number 3 in the list with 74%.
4) Haryana
With 71% people using abusive words, Haryana ranks number 4
5) Bihar
Bihar is number 5 on the list with survey finding 68% people using abusive words.
6) Rajasthan
Rajasthan is number 6 on the list with 62% people using cuss words while talking.
7) Maharashtra
Maharashtra ranks number 7 on the list 61%.
8) Gujarat
With 58%, Gujarat ranks number 8 on the list.
9) Madhya Pradesh
In the survey, it was found that 55% of people use abusive words in Madhya Pradesh.
10) Chhattisgarh
With 45%, the people of Chhattisgarh is at number 10th spot.
11) Kashmir
Only 15% of Kashmiri people use cuss words while talking. Hence, they are at 11.
