The Punjab Police, along with the Army, BSF, NDRF, SDRF, and Civil Administration, have initiated a collective mission in major flood-hit districts such as Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Tarn Taran, Fazilka, and Ferozepur, successfully rescuing 7,689 individuals so far.

Technology and air support

Drones are being used in full force to identify stranded citizens and provide essential goods like food and medicines, while 20 Army helicopters deployed all over Punjab provide swift evacuation to the safety of shelters.

Measures of relief and rehabilitation

Relief shelters with provisions and medical facilities have been set up in the affected zones, with Punjab Police setting up langars for food and medicines and cattle fodder for animals.

On-ground leadership

District SSPs are on the ground personally overseeing relief work to facilitate quick action and safety for every resident.

Government preparedness

With a four-day weather warning in place, Punjab Police and its allied agencies are on high alert and fully geared up to deal with the ongoing and emerging flood emergencies, under the guidance of Special DGP Law and Order Arpit Shukla.
