Punjab DGP inspects crime spot, says all angles being probed in AAP leader Lucky Oberoi murder case

After the murder of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Lucky Oberoi who was shot dead today early in the morning outside a gurdwara in the Model Town area of Jalandhar, the Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav visited Jalandhar and took stock of the case. Talking to the media about the incident the DGP says that a review meeting was held with several officers. During this the investigation that have unfolded so far was also examined. Following this, a spot inspection took place. The DGP has assured that the case is being probed with a professional and scientific approach. It was also revealed that the CCTV footage of the incident is being probed thoroughly and all the forward and backward linkage of the case are being investigated.

Sharing more information about the investigation the DGP reveals that they are trying to locate the culprits by tracking their cell phones and establishing the network using technical approach. As of now all the theories of crime are being probed and explored. DGP tells that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has personally taken an update of the case. The authorities have assured that they are committed to resolving this case as soon as possible and an exemplary punishment by the law would be given to the culprits.

There are also several claims being made online regarding the killing of Lucky Oberoi and in response to that the DGP clarified that all such angles would be first investigated in a proper manner and said that whoever has made the post would be tracked and brought to justice. The DGP says that all the angles and possible motives are on the table and each one of them would be evaluated.   

DGP Gaurav Yadav made a clear statement saying that crime in Punjab would not be tolerated at all and whoever the culprit is, would be apprehended soon. The DGP also mentioned that there have been many leads established in the case so far which are being looked at.

The DGP Gaurav Yadav also made a claim that after the Operation Sindoor the illegal weapon smuggling from Pakistan has seen a rise and mostly Glock pistols are being seized, these consignments are reaching this side of the border through drones. He says that the police are geared up to fight these organized crime nexuses that are being operated from Pakistan.

Talking about the rising cases of violence linked to the college presidencies, the DGP affirms that appropriate action would be taken to curb such incidents in the future.
