Punjab Hailstorm: Jalandhar, and other districts likely to be hit by hail at THIS time

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) of Chandigarh unit has put almost all districts of Punjab on yellow and orange alert. IMD has predicted that districts in Punjab will not only witness thunderstorm but also be hit by hailstorm between October 5 to October 7.

As it is October 6, Punjab Weather Prediction is turning out to be true as multiple districts have been witnessing rainfall from early morning. As a result, temperature has also started to go down. In Jalandhar (while writing this), Apple Weather app was showcasing 19°C as lowest and 25°C as the highest.

Notably, what has raised everyone's eyebrows is Punjab Hailstorm Alert. Districts like Ludhiana, Jalandhar, etc have been put on hailstorm alert.

Why is weather changing in Punjab?

IMD has revealed the technical reason why Punjab weather is all set to change from October 5. IMD's official release reads, "A Western Disturbance is likely to become active over Northwest India from October 4, 2025. It is expected to affect the Western Himalayan region and the adjoining plains of Northwest India during 05th to 07th October 2025."

IMD also confirmed that hailstorm is likely at isolated places on 5th and 6th October in Punjab and on 6th October in Haryana.
