

The Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Jalandhar, is set to host a prestigious Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on Bronchial Asthma on 21st March 2026, in collaboration with the Pulmonary Allergy, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine (PACS) Asthma Symposium.
This academic event will be conducted at the institute’s campus and is being organized under the aegis of the Punjab Medical Council, with accreditation of CME credit hours. The symposium aims to provide an in-depth update on the latest advancements in the diagnosis, management, and prevention of bronchial asthma—one of the most significant chronic respiratory diseases affecting millions worldwide.
The conference will witness participation from more than 200 delegates, including physicians, pulmonologists, postgraduate students, and healthcare professionals from across the region. The event will serve as a dynamic platform for academic exchange, fostering discussion on evidence-based practices and recent innovations in respiratory medicine.
The organizing chairman, Dr. Deepak Talwar, a renowned pulmonologist from Delhi and Director & Chair of Pulmonary Sleep & Critical Care Metro Centre for Respiratory Diseases (NOIDA), will lead the academic deliberations. He will be accompanied by his expert team, contributing valuable insights and sharing their extensive clinical experience in asthma management.
The symposium will feature a distinguished panel of eminent national faculty, including leading experts in pulmonology, who will deliver lectures, case discussions, and interactive sessions. Notable speakers include Dr. Pratibha Singhal and other senior consultants from reputed institutions, ensuring a rich and diverse academic experience.
The conference is being organized under the guidance of Dr. Rajiv Arora, Director Principal, and Dr. Kanwaljit Singh, Executive Director of PIMS, whose leadership has been instrumental in promoting academic excellence and continuous professional development.
Dr. Naresh Kumar Bathla, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Pulmonology at PIMS, is serving as the Organizing Secretary of the conference. He emphasized that this CME is designed to enhance clinical knowledge, improve patient outcomes, and strengthen the capacity of healthcare professionals in managing respiratory diseases effectively.
In addition, contributions from senior consultants like Dr. Deepak Kumar Prajapat and Dr. Kanishka Kumar Singh will further enrich the academic sessions.
