Punjab Police recruitment 2026: 3,298 vacancies; Check when & where to apply

Punjab Police is set to recruit 3,298 personnel this year, and the online application process will begin on March 10 with the last date to submit the applications set for March 30. The concerned department will then initiate further processing from there on.

A special control room has been set up to ensure candidates do not face any hurdles during the entire recruitment process. Once the recruitment process begins, complaints and suggestions will be addressed here.

As per the information received from the Punjab Police out of the total 3,298 posts, 2,522 are for the district police cadre, while 766 will be for the armed police cadre and a recruitment link will be updated soon and all the terms and conditions would be soon finalized by the police department and it has been ensured that full-fledged information regarding the qualifications and physical standards for each post will also be provided. The department will also issue QR codes for Punjab Police recruitments where candidates will be able to scan the QR code and directly access the official recruitment link and apply online, making it easier for the candidates to navigate the website and expedite the application process.

Since March 2022, a total of 10,264 youths have been recruited in the Punjab Police across various ranks, including constables, head constables and sub-inspectors. In January 2026, appointment letters were issued to 1,746 constables (district and armed cadres). Previous recruitments have taken place in several bathes, including a few thousand positions in the Intelligence/Investigation cadre in 2022-23, and a larger batch of constables (such as the completed recruitment of 1,746 positions) in 2023-25.
