Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Sunday made a major announcement on Punjab School Holidays in September 2025. Colleges, universities and schools in Punjab have been shut for the past many days due to the flood crisis.
Harjot Singh Bains issued a detailed announcement on Punjab School Holidays keeping the current situation in mind as many villages of the state are still reeling under floods.

Harjot Singh Bains took to his X handle and wrote, (Translated Version)-
1. Government, private, and aided schools, colleges, and universities in the state will reopen as usual from tomorrow. If any school or college is affected by floods, the decision to close it will be made by the respective district's Deputy Commissioner.
2. It will be mandatory for the management of private schools to ensure that the school building and classrooms are completely safe to guarantee the safety of students and teachers.
3. On September 8, all government schools in the state will remain closed for students. Teachers will be present in the schools, and cleaning activities will be carried out with the assistance of S.M.C., panchayats, municipal councils, and corporations.
4. Teachers will thoroughly inspect school buildings. If any kind of issue or defect is found, it must be immediately reported to the district's Deputy Commissioner and the Engineering Department.
5. From September 9, all government schools will reopen as usual.
