Punjab Vigilance to file 40,000-page chargesheet against Bikram Majithia; Rs 700-cr worth illegal assets unearthed

In a massive development, Punjab Vigilance Bureau is all set to file its chargesheet against Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia. As per sources, the Vigilance Bureau will file its chargesheet against Majithia in Mohali court today i.e. August 22, 2025.

For the unversed, Punjab Vigilance Bureau arrested Bikram Singh Majithia on June 26 and was later sent to judicial custody on July 6. He has since been lodged at New Nabha Jail for the past 14 days.

As per sources, Vigilance has prepared 40,000 pages chargesheet against Majithia.

Sources suggest that the chargesheet reveals illegal and benign assets worth Rs 700 crores. Furthermore, testimony of 200 people have been recorded in charge sheet

Investigation report of 400 bank accounts included in chargesheet.

Charge sheet has been prepared after investigation of 15 locations in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, UP and Delhi. Statements of many Akali and BJP leaders are also recorded in the charge sheet.
