The IMD Chandigarh has revealed that a few districts or regions of the state will witness yellow alert and the remaining regions will remain calm.

What, actually, is happening in Punjab?

According to the reports, on August 4 and 5, 2025, four districts, including Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur and Nawanshahr, will witness heavy to very heavy rainfall and the IMD Chandigarh has asked the residents and citizens to remain “Updated”.

However, the recent update has informed that the remaining regions are marked as “No Warning” from August 4 to 8, 2025.

August 4, 2025

Four districts, including Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, and Nawanshahr, have witnessed yellow alert, which means that the places will witness heavy rain in these areas. The weather department has asked the residents to stay alert and avoid commuting through the water-logging prone areas.

August 5, 2025

The heavy to very heavy rainfall will continue to pour across Pathankot, Gurdaspur, and Hoshiarpur. The department has categorized the regions as “Be Updated” and has asked the residents and citizens of the districts to remain cautious, updated and follow all the necessary advisories.

August 6 to August 8, 2025

Between August 6 and August 8, there are no weather warnings and all the regions fall into “No Warning” category, which means that no rain is expected across the state.
