

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh on January 2 announced that the much-awaited Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna will be rolled out in the state on January 15. Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna will be rolled out by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and AAP's National Convener Arvind Kejriwal.
Under this scheme, residents of Punjab will be eligible to get free medical treatment up to Rs 10 lakh in the empaneled government as well as private hospitals in the state.

What is Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna?
Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna is a health scheme that will be launched by Bhagwant Singh Mann Government for the people of Punjab. Under this scheme, cashless medical treatment up to Rs. 10 lakh per family per year will be provided across all government and empanelled private hospitals in Punjab and Chandigarh.

Dr. Balbir Singh, Punjab Health Minister address a press conference said that this scheme will provide a health insurance cover of Rs 10 lakh to 3 crore people in Punjab. Hence, it is expected to benefit 3 crore people of Punjab.
Who can apply for Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna?
The Health Minister emphasised that the scheme is designed for total inclusivity, featuring no income cap or exclusion criteria. Applicants must be residents of Punjab.
How can you apply for Punjab Government's Rs 10 lakh cashless scheme?
To avail benefits under the scheme, the applicant must be a resident of Punjab. Health cards can be made at any nearby Common Service Centre (CSC) in villages or urban areas.
How many camps will be set up and where?
Around 9,000 camps will be organised across 23 districts of Punjab. These camps will be held in villages and urban neighbourhoods. Prior announcements will be made in every village before the camps are conducted.
What procedures will be carried out at the camps?
At the camps, biometric details of every family member will be recorded. Aadhaar card and voter ID will be uploaded, a live online photograph will be taken, and a pending message will be sent to the registered mobile number. Once the enrolment is completed, the person will become eligible for medical treatment.
When will Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna scheme's health card be issued?
People would be eligible for treatment once they are successfully enrolled. The cards would take approximately 10 to 15 days to arrive. The government plans to cover the entire state of Punjab within four months.
Will any payment be required for treatment?
The answer is no. Under this scheme, no money will be charged for OPD services or treatment. Separate counters will be set up at government and empanelled private hospitals. Treatment will be provided by simply showing the enrolment slip or health card. If anyone demands money, a complaint can be made on the helpline, and immediate action will be taken.
What if the voter ID is from Punjab but the Aadhaar card is from another state?
Treatment will be provided in Punjab, but the treatment cost will be borne by the state where the Aadhaar card is registered.
