Rains to persist in Punjab? Know when and where

The weather department has forecast that rainy spell will continue across Punjab over next few days and light to moderate rainfall is likely at many places.

Punjab witnessed a significant change in weather during last 24 hours as light to moderate rainfall was recorded at most places across state.

Heavy rainfall occurred at isolated locations while thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds and hailstorms were also reported in some areas and according to weather department the rainfall brought relief from intense heat that had affected many parts of Punjab in recent days and with this the highest maximum temperature and the minimum lowest temperature both were recorded at Bhatinda AMFU, these were 41.2°C and 23.5°C respectively.

District of Muktsar received notable rainfall on June 23rd as per data shared by IMD. As per the temperature distribution of IMD, it was noted that there was an appreciable fall in the maximum temperature but no large change was seen in the minimum temperatures of the state.

The weather department has forecast that rainy spell will continue across Punjab over next few days and light to moderate rainfall is likely at many places. According to the forecast, rains will persist in the state from June 23rd to June 26th and also will be likely on June 29th. An increase in the maximum temperature by 2-3°C will be seen in the next three days. No large temperature changes will be seen in the state thereafter. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds with speeds of 40 to 50 kmph are likely and can go upto 60 kmph as well.

For June 24 thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds with speeds of 40 to 50 kmph are likely at few places over Ludhiana, Barnala, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala and SAS Nagar (Mohali) and along with this light to moderate rainfall is expected at a few places in these districts and at isolated places in several other districts including Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Moga, Rupnagar and Nawanshahar

On June 25 similar weather conditions are expected in Ludhiana, Kapurthala,  Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Jalandhar and SAS Nagar (Mohali) and light to moderate rainfall may occur at few places in Rupnagar and Mohali along with in some isolated places in Ludhiana, Barnala, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, SAS Nagar (Mohali) Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Moga

June 26’s forecast suggests thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds with speeds of 40 to 50 kmph are likely at few places over Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Rupnagar and Nawanshahar along with light to moderate rainfall is at isolated places over Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Moga, Rupnagar, Barnala, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala and Nawanshahar

So to put it all simply the forecast indicates that rain activity may continue in parts of Punjab from 23rd to 26th June.
