Panic ensued Rama Mandi late Tuesday evening as a firing incident came to light. As per reports, two men riding a scooter fired at a Fortuner car in Rama mandi area. In retaliation to the firing, the man riding the car also opened fire on the men on the scooter. Allegedly, the occupants of the car also fired shots in the crowded market, but fortunately, no one was hurt during this incident.
The reports suggest that during the attack the car driver rammed his Fortuner into the attackers’ Activa and due to its impact the attackers abandoned their vehicle and fled the scene.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene and began their investigation. Police believe the incident may be linked to an old rivalry. Currently, footage from nearby CCTV cameras is being reviewed.
The ACP Jalandhar Central Ajay Singh talking about the incident says that, between 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM the police got the information about the firing in Rama Mandi. As soon as the police got to know about the incident the police teams were deployed and they reached the scene. As per reports, nobody has got hurt or injured in this incident. The police say that they have registered a case in this regard and a probe is underway and they have assured that the culprits would be arrested soon. As of now the CCTV footage from nearby areas is being probed and hunt is on for the attackers.
