The tragic death of 36-year-old Richi Kaypee in Jalandhar is still under investigation. Richi Kaypee, son of former MP and SAD leader Mohinder Singh Kaypee died last Saturday night in a multi-car collision. Richi was driving Fortuner while his car suffered collision with 'high-speed' cars- Creta and Grand Vitara.
The owner of the Creta who was driving the car that time has been identified as Gursharan Singh aka Prince who is businessman who owns Shaan Enterprises in Shekha Bazar.
Notably, Prince is yet to be arrested by the Police despite FIR was lodged a few days back. The Police are reportedly carrying out raids to nab Prince, but they have not succeeded. In the meantime, Prince's lawyer Advocate Mandeep Singh Sachdeva has filed for anticipatory bail for the accused.
Advocate Mandeep Singh Sachdeva talking to True Scoop informed that Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) has been applied, which is a non-bailable offense, but is less serious than murder.
"This is a case of accident, not murder. In accident cases, there is no intention to kill anyone,” said Sachdeva.
He further added, "That’s why we have filed for anticipatory bail. The police have registered an FIR. The real facts will come out during the investigation and through the evidence. It will then be clear who was actually at fault."
Mohinder Singh Kaypee in his complaint said-
"(Translated Version) On 13.09.2025, after finishing some personal work, my son and I were returning from Model Town to our home. I was travelling in my Marazzo car... while ahead of me, my son Richie Kaypee was driving his Fortuner car."
"When we reached near Bata Showroom at Mata Rani Chowk, Model Town, Jalandhar, one car (Grand Vitara) suddenly came in front of my son’s vehicle. Immediately behind that, another car (Creta) came at very high speed and rammed into my son’s Fortuner.
As a result of this collision, my son Richi Kaypee died on the spot. I placed him in my vehicle and first took him to Global Hospital and then to Patel Hospital for treatment. However, after examination, the doctors declared him dead.
The death of my son was caused due to the rash and fast driving of both the said car drivers. Legal action should be taken against them."
A case has since been registered against both the Creta driver, Gursharan Singh alias Prince, and the Vitara driver, Vishu Kapoor, under sections 281, 125(A), 125(B), 105 and 324(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, relating to rash or negligent driving, endangering life, causing death by rash act, and mischief causing damage.
