Pole and wires fall onto bus

A school bus carrying around 20 children collided with an electricity pole in Ludhiana’s Aman Nagar area on Tuesday, causing the pole and overhead wires to fall onto the vehicle.

The impact frightened the children inside the bus. Local shopkeepers and residents who heard the collision rushed to the spot and helped the students safely exit the vehicle.

Parents reach the spot

The children’s parents were informed about the incident and subsequently reached the location. No injuries to any of the students were reported.

Residents alleged that the accident occurred due to negligence by the bus driver. They also claimed that the driver left the scene after the collision.

Police begin investigation

A police team reached the area and started investigating the incident. Officials are examining the circumstances that led to the bus colliding with the electricity pole.

Sarabjit Singh, Munshi at Salem Tabri police station, confirmed that no child was injured.

“No children got injured during the accident. The bus driver fled the scene after the incident and investigation is on in the matter,” he said.

Driver’s role under investigation

Police are now working to establish the sequence of events and determine the circumstances surrounding the collision. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
