The Sher-e-Punjab T20 League witnessed a remarkable batting spectacle on Tuesday as Jalandhar Warriors chased down a massive target of 265 runs against Amritsar Soormas, securing an eight-wicket victory at the PCA I.S. Bindra Stadium in Mohali.
The match produced more than 500 runs, turning the contest into one of the most explosive games of the tournament so far. What initially looked like a daunting chase quickly turned into a dominant batting display by the Warriors.
Prabhsimran Turns the Chase Into a Spectacle
At the heart of Jalandhar's remarkable chase was skipper Prabhsimran Singh, who delivered one of the standout innings of the tournament.
Prabhsimran smashed an unbeaten 125 off just 47 balls, striking 14 fours and eight sixes at a staggering strike rate of 265.96. His innings not only anchored the chase but completely shifted the pressure onto the Amritsar bowling attack.
He reached his century in just 41 balls, underlining the extraordinary pace at which the Warriors approached the target.
Naman Dhir's 117 Sets Up a Huge Target
Earlier, Amritsar Soormas had put up a mammoth 264/5 in 20 overs, powered by a sensational century from Naman Dhir.
Dhir scored 117 runs, giving the Soormas a strong platform and helping them cross the 260-run mark. With Abhishek Sharma also contributing a rapid 82 off 36 balls, Amritsar appeared to have posted a total that could put the game firmly in their favour.
265 Chased Down in Just 16.5 Overs
The Warriors did not merely chase the target — they dismantled it.
Jalandhar reached 265/2 in 16.5 overs, winning the match by eight wickets with 19 balls remaining. Prabhsimran received valuable support from Harjas Singh Tandon, who scored 42 off 21 balls, before Anmol Malhotra finished unbeaten on 53 off 23 balls.
The pace of the chase was evident from the beginning. Jalandhar raced to 103/1 after six overs and continued to stay well ahead of the required run rate.
A Statement Win for Jalandhar Warriors
For Jalandhar Warriors, the victory was more than just two points. After suffering an eight-wicket defeat against Fazilka Falcons in their opening match, the Warriors bounced back in spectacular fashion.
