In a shocking development, a shopkeeper running a grocery shop was shot dead on Monday around 2 pm in a village in Punjab's Tarn Taran. To be precise, the incident took place in Bhullar village of the Khadoor Sahib Assembly constituency. Two men on a motorcycle entered the shop on Monday afternoon and opened fire at the shopkeeper.

The attackers managed to flee the scene after carrying out the crime. Police have taken the deceased's body into custody and initiated further legal proceedings. Station House Officer Ranjit Singh stated that Daljit Singh (47), son of Khajan Singh, a resident of Bhullar village, ran a grocery store in the village.

He said that Daljit was at his shop when two unidentified men on a motorcycle shot him. He died inside the shop. Daljit Singh's father, a former sarpanch, said that the family had never received any threats or ransom calls. However, police are investigating the matter.

CCTV footage from the shop has also been accessed. In the video, the shopkeeper can be seen getting shot and falling down.

Before the firing, an argument broke out between the bike-borne men and the shopkeeper. The argument soon escalated and one of them fired at Daljit.
