Late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala's mother Charan Kaur has sent a legal notice to a Christian outfit - Globel Christian Action Committee in Jalandhar. Charan Kaur in her legal notice has demanded an unconditional public apology written in news paper, and social media. Further, she has demanded Rs 10 lakh as compensation.

Charan Kaur has sent legal notice after her effigy was burnt by the protestors belonging to Globel Christian Action Committee in first week of December near PAP Chowk, Jalandhar.

For those who are unaware, protestors brought three effigies that were meant to represent Tejasvi Minhas, Bhana Sidhu and another woman. Surprisingly, the woman whose picture was displayed on the third effigy was not that of a controversial figure but of Charan Kaur.

Amidst this controversy, some people claimed that they intended to bring an effigy of Bhaana Sidhu's mother, but mistakenly received an effigy with Charan Kaur's picture.

Charan Kaur has sent legal notice via her legal representative.

The legal document reads- " ... it was brought to attention of our client that in first week of December 2025, the Addressee (the "Globel Christian Action Committee"), through its members, office bearers, or associates, carried out a deliberate and highly malicious act of public defamation against her at PAP Chowk, Jalandhar by burning her effigy and then posting the incident on social media."

"The Addressee publicly created, displayed, and subsequently burnt the effigy identified as representing My Client, Mrs. Charan Kaur. This act was committed without any justifiable cause, reason, or public grievance against My Client.

The act was primarily motivated by the desire for cheap publicity and was widely witnessed, and has been recorded and circulated on social media platforms, causing profound humiliation and distress to My Client."

What are Charan Kaur's demands?

Charan Kaur has demanded to publish 'an unconditional, prominent, and unequivocal public apology.

"Apology to Charan Kaur, to be published in a widely circulated Punjabi newspaper in the Jalandhar region and posted on all of the organisation's public social media platforms (including the Facebook page) for a minimum of 30 days. The wording of the apology must be pre-approved by My Client.."

"Pay a sum of Rs 10 lakh as compensation for the trauma, mental agony, and severe damage caused to the reputation and public standing of My Client."

It is pertinent to mention here that Charan Kaur has given 15 days time to the out to comply with her demands. If they did not comply with it then a civil suit will be filed against them.
