Plot: Lost sardar, found fun

Years after having resolved the notorious Punjab family drama, Jassi is now seated on a plane to Scotland on a quest nobody saw coming: to reconcile with his estranged wife (Neeru Bajwa), who immediately serves him divorce papers at the airport. A lovesick, fish-out-of-water Sardar, he stumbles into the middle of Rabia (Mrunal Thakur), a Pakistani wedding dancer, and her girl band. When Rabia's sister would like to marry the son of an uptight, breed-conscious Indian father (Ravi Kishan), and her own parents are not around, Jassi and Rabia must pretend to be the potential bride's parents.

Things go haywire when Jassi pretends to be a Colonel in the Indian Army in order to impress the would-be in-laws, dragging him deeper into family melodrama, rom-com antics, and laugh-out-loud cross-border comedy of errors. What begins as a rescue mission marriage soon descends into loony hostage crises, mafia wars, and a most unconventional Sikh wedding, all laced with slapstick humor and good doses of India-Pakistan bickering.

Reception: Big on gags, light on logic

While the film's comedy wallows in daftness and tumbles over into melodrama occasionally, audiences have enjoyed its light entertainment value, thanks especially to doses of humor from Devgn and Punjabi-style gags. Others complained of a loss of the original charm and natural chemistry among the lead pair, but audiences with no special devotion are still relishing their fix of "desi" fun.
