Punjab is likely to witness increased rainfall activity over the coming days, with thunderstorms, lightning and isolated heavy rain forecast at different places across the state and according to the weather forecast, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms or lightning is likely at isolated places on September 11 and again on September 18.

The weather is expected to become more active on September 16 and 17, with rainfall forecast at many places across Punjab and this indicates a wider spread of rain during these two days compared with the earlier part of the forecast period.
Heavy rainfall is also likely at isolated places on September 17 and while heavy rain is not expected across the entire state, some locations may receive significantly higher rainfall during this period.
Thunderstorms and lightning have also been included in the forecast, particularly during the days when rainfall activity is expected and such conditions can lead to sudden changes in weather and reduced visibility during showers.
The forecast indicates that September 13 to 17 will be the main period of rainfall activity in Punjab, with the possibility of both widespread showers and isolated heavy rainfall, so residents in areas receiving rain are advised to remain alert to changing weather conditions, particularly during thunderstorms and heavy showers.
The weather system is expected to ease after September 17, although isolated light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms or lightning is forecast again on September 18.
