

A gravel-laden tipper collided with a truck parked on the side of a road for a tire change on the Kala Bakra road situated on the Bhogpur-Jalandhar highway. The accident took place early in the morning hours allegedly due to dense fog. Reports confirm that the conductor who was changing the tire has died in the collision where as the driver has been seriously injured. The impact of the accident was so severe that it wrecked both the vehicles, bringing them to halt in the middle of the road.
The wrecked vehicles blocking the road caused significant inconvenience to the commuters and led a prolonged traffic jam. The people nearby informed the Sadak Surakhya Force (SSF) about the incident and the team upon receiving the information and reached the spot, moved the vehicles to the side of the road and informed the police authorities at the concerned Police Station for further inquiry.
As per the information, a truck was en route from Pathankot to Jalandhar in the morning when its tire burst near Kala Bakra road. The driver had parked the truck on the road side to change the defected tire. That is when a gravel-laden tipper truck coming from behind collided with the parked truck. The conductor who was fixing the tire died due to the impact of the accident, while injuring the driver.
Talking about the incident, Station House Officer Manjit Kumar informs that when the team received the information, they reached the spot and took the body into custody and sent it to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination. Currently a probe into the accident is underway.
