

Panic gripped Gurdaspur city after two prominent schools received bomb threats through email, prompting immediate action from the police administration. Following the information, security teams led by SSP Aditya reached both schools and carried out extensive search operations.
Investigation of the schools
Police officials thoroughly checked the school premises, including classrooms, corridors and other areas, as part of the security exercise. However, no suspicious object or explosive material was found during the search.
Threatening email received
According to officials, the threatening emails were received by two reputed schools in Gurdaspur, following which police and security agencies were alerted. SSP Aditya personally supervised the operation and ensured a detailed inspection of the campuses.
Sensitivity of the matter
The police officials called the matter sensitive because of the upcoming event of Independence-day. He said the matter has been taken into priority and specialised teams have been appointed to investigate the premises although no suspicious items were found
Investigation on the source
The police have now launched an investigation to trace the source of the emails. A technical probe is underway, with cyber teams working to identify the sender and determine whether the threat was genuine or a hoax.
Similar past events
Officials said all necessary security measures have been taken to ensure the safety of students and staff. Notably, similar bomb threats were reported at some schools in the city around six months ago, creating fear among residents at that time.
