

Punjab is expected to witness a change in weather conditions over next few days with rain, thunderstorms and strong winds likely in several districts from June 3 to June 6 and according to latest weather update the state remained dry during last 24 hours.
Bathinda recorded highest maximum temperature at 40.2 degrees Celsius while Ballowal Saunkari recorded lowest minimum temperature at 22.4 degrees Celsius.
The weather department has forecast light to moderate rainfall in different parts of Punjab during coming days. On June 3 and June 4 many districts are likely to receive rain along with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds and along with this a warning has been issued for districts including Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, Barnala and Mansa where wind speeds may reach 50 to 60 kmph on June 3.
Similar conditions are expected in Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala on June 4 as well while other districts, including Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, SBS Nagar, Rupnagar and Mohali may also witness thunderstorms and winds of 40 to 50 kmph during this period.
Rainfall activity is expected to continue on June 5 and June 6 mainly in southern districts such as Fazilka, Muktsar, Bathinda, Mansa, Barnala, Sangrur and Patiala however intensity is likely to be lower with rain expected only at isolated places.
The weather department has also predicted that maximum temperatures may rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over next two days while after that temperatures are likely to fall by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius for following three days before rising again.
