Ludhiana West MLA and Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora on Sunday resigned as MD of Hampton Sky Realty and its wholly owned subsidiaries. In total, Arora separated himself from 8 firms. He told the company's board in his resignation letter on Sunday that he is leaving this post from 3 August 2025.
Sanjeev Arora said that on June 23, he was elected MLA from Ludhiana West and became a cabinet minister on July 3. Hence, he is separating himself from the work of the companies to fulfill the responsibilities of the ministerial post.
Sanjeev Arora in his letter wrote, "It is with a deep sense of gratitude and respect that I tender my resignation from the office of Managing Director of Hampton Sky Realty Ltd. (“the Company”), with effect from August 03, 2025, pursuant to the provisions of Section 168 of the Companies Act, 2013 read with the applicable rules made thereunder.
Pursuant to my recent election as a Member of the Legislative Assembly w.e.f. June 23, 2025 representing the State of Punjab, I have also been vested with the distinguished responsibility of serving as a Cabinet Minister in the Government of Punjab as appointed by the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab w.e.f. July 3, 2025.
The assumption of this high public office necessitates my undivided attention and unwavering commitment to the service of the State of Punjab and its people. In light of the paramount public interest and constitutional responsibilities not only it is incumbent upon me, but it is even unequivocally untenable for me to continue holding the office of Managing Director in the Company.
Accordingly, I hereby relinquish any association with the directorship(s) forthwith, as continuing to hold such office would be incompatible with the imperatives of my current constitutional duties, and may serve as a hindrance in fulfilment of my aspirations to serve the public at large.
Also, I hereby tender my resignation from the Directorship(s) from the three wholly owned subsidiaries of the Company as well with immediate effect.
I would like to place on record my sincere gratitude to the Board of Directors, the senior management team, and all stakeholders for their unwavering support, cooperation, and professionalism during my association with the Company.
I have always endeavoured to discharge my duties with diligence and integrity, and I am confident that the Company will continue on its path of responsible growth under the stewardship of the current leadership.
I request the Company to take this letter on record and to initiate the necessary filings and disclosures as required under applicable laws and regulations.
Wishing the Company continued success and greater heights in the years to come."
Notably. Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar had addressed a press conference on Sunday, a few hours back when Arora tendered his resignation.
Jakhar in press conference had demanded that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann investigate corruption allegations against his minister, Sanjeev Arora, for alleged misconduct as a land developer.
Jakhar further highlighted that the late Ludhiana MLA Gurpreet Gogi had raised concerns about Arora’s company converting industrial land into residential colonies.
