The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Chandigarh, has forecast light to moderate rainfall at a few places across Punjab from August 8 to August 13, bringing intermittent showers to several districts over the coming week. However, no weather warnings have been issued for the state during this period.
The highest maximum temperature recorded in Punjab was 34.4°C in Bathinda, while the lowest minimum temperature was 24.6°C, also recorded in Bathinda.
Rainfall Forecast for August 8
According to the IMD, light to moderate rainfall is likely at a few places in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Nawanshahr), Bathinda, Mansa, Rupnagar, and SAS Nagar (Mohali) on Saturday, August 8.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall is expected at isolated places in Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Moga, Ludhiana, Barnala, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Patiala.
Weather Outlook for August 9
For Sunday, August 9, the IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall at many places in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, and Rupnagar.
Rainfall is also likely at a few places in Amritsar, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Nawanshahr), Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, and SAS Nagar (Mohali). Additionally, isolated rainfall is expected in Tarn Taran, Bathinda, Barnala, Mansa, and Sangrur.
Jalandhar Weather Forecast
For Jalandhar, the IMD has forecast light rainfall at isolated places on August 8. Over the following three days, the city is expected to witness light to moderate rainfall at a few places, resulting in intermittent showers and cloudy skies.
As of now, no weather warning has been issued for Jalandhar, indicating that no major weather-related disruptions are anticipated over the next few days.
