A brazen incident has come to light from Kachehri Chowk in Amritsar were a young man jumped from a bridge and caused a scene. The incident took place during broad daylight and caused a commotion among the people present at the location. Eye-witnesses tell that the young man stood on the bridge for some time and then suddenly jumped down. Upon noticing him, the passers-by immediately informed the police about the young man and informed the police and ambulance services.
Upon learning about the incident, the Amritsar Police and emergency services reached the spot immediately. The youth was then rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, where a team of doctors is currently monitoring his condition. As of now, the identity and age of the youth has not been officially confirmed yet.
The police officials confirm that the preliminary investigation has not indicated any criminal aspect and a through probe has been initiated in the matter. Currently, the authorities are examining the CCTV footages from nearby areas to get some clarity regarding the incident. The police is trying to contact the youth’s family as of now.
Due to the incident, the traffic at Kachehri Chowk was affected for a short while. The police managed the situation and diverted the traffic through alternative routes. The administration has appealed the public to not take any such incidents lightly and to not leave anyone alone if they see any individual struggling with mental stress and also urged them provide whatever help possible. The police also stresses on the importance of contacting emergency services or helplines when needed. As of now, the police have said that the situation regarding this incident would only be clear after a through probe has taken place.
