Giving further details, the official spokesperson said, the Punjab Government  informed in the petition that the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) is attempting to illegally divert Punjab's water to Haryana at the behest of the BJP-led Central Government.

Taking part in discussion after the resolution was moved by Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goel, the Chief Minister said that Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) was originally established to manage the waters of the Sutlej and Beas rivers.

In a statement, the Chief Minister unequivocally said that the states of Haryana and Rajasthan are allotted share in water of the state from a cycle of May 21 to May 21 every year.
