Airtel announces price hike in recharge plans

Bharti Airtel, India's second-largest telecom operator after Reliance Jio announced a hike of 10% to 21% in mobile tariffs.

The price hike was announced a day after Jio announced its plans for a raise in tariffs.

The new prices will come into effect starting from July 3.

The cheapest prepaid plan of Rs 179 (unlimited calling, and 2 GB data for 28 days) is priced at Rs 199.

The plan worth Rs 265 (1 GBday) will be available for Rs 299.

1 GB of data top-up used to cost Rs 15; now it will cost Rs 19.

The Annual prepaid plan (2 GBday) will cost Rs 3599 which previously cost Rs 2999.
