Like the Ivys, Australia has its own Group of 8 (Go8) Universities and The University of Melbourne comes at top. Founded in 1853, it is Australia's second oldest university and the oldest in Victoria.

Located in Canberra, The Australian National University is number 2 in the list. It was established in 1946 and was declared as top university in Australia by the 2022 QS World University Rankings

The University of Sydney is third in the list established in 1850. With students from over 134 countries in various programs, the university is truly international.

With 7,000 staffs and more than 50,000 students, The University of Queensland comes at number 4 in the list. It was founded in 1990 and is one of the six sandstone universities

On number five is Monash University. Monash University is based out of Melbourne city in the state of Victoria. It was established in 1958 and is the second oldest university in the state

University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney is at number 6 and it was founded in 1949, it now has eight campuses in Kensington, CBD, Randwick, Paddington and etc.

With its main campus in Perth, the University of Western Australia (UWA) is among the top 1% of universities in the world. It was rewarded five-star rating by the Good Universities Guide 2018
