For the first time after her divorce with cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, Choreographer and influencer Dhanashree Verma has broken her silence. Dhanashree Verma recently appeared in Humans of Bombay Podcast in what seems as a 'tit-for-tat' podcast as the cricketer had appeared in a separate podcast.
For the unversed, Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma were granted a divorce by the Mumbai Family Court on March 20, 2025. The divorce was finalized after the Bombay High Court expedited the process due to Chahal's IPL commitments
Notably, after the couple's divorce, Chahal was snapped by the media wearing a tshirt with a tagline that reads, 'Be your own sugar daddy'. Chahal in a podcast with Raj Shamani had stated that it was like a last message from him to his former wife Dhanashree.
Narrating the t-shirt stunt, Dhanashree said, "I think he (Yuzvendra Chahal) walked out first and then the T-shirt thing happened in front of the media. I was not aware about it because I was still inside. The moment I got out, I sat in the car. I got out from the back door.
Because there was media in the front and I was not liking that. It was very sad and you don't want cameras all over your face. My lawyer and me exited from backdoor because we did not want to show or say anything to the media. I was wearing only a normal t-shirt and jeans. My best friend was with me and we were still gasping over everything. It was that shaky moment, especially when you know everyone is going to blame you.
Before the t-shirt stunt will happen, we were all aware that people are going to blame me for this. I was just thinking what to do in life next, until I removed my phone and I saw that (tshirt stunt). I was like did he really do it. In that one second there are millions of thoughts. That moment was like 'boss it's over!'. It's done and dusted. Why should I cry. Somewhere I was feeling but after this I was like forget this, let's end it. In fact, it inspired me and in a way helped me.
How you behave on that particular day is the reflection of you as a person. How you respect and behave show your personality and that needs to be maintained," said Dhanashree.
The podcaster then outlined that Chahal said in a podcast that it was suppose to be a message for her, Dhanashree laughingly said, "Arey bhai WhatsApp kar deta, t-shirt par kyun (you should have texted me on WhatsApp if you wanted to give a message or last message)."
