Amid the ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran, a video has been surfacing online allegedly showing an explosion and thick black smoke near Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The viral video suggests that the world’s tallest building was targeted by Iran in retaliation to US and Israeli strikes. But, it is noteworthy that there has been no official confirmation regarding this.
Reportedly, multiple videos surfacing online claimed that the Burj Khalifa was directly struck, however, no official authority has made any verified conformation in this matter. As per the official statements there were explosions and fire breakouts in some parts of Dubai, including Palm Jumeirah and other locations. Burj Khalifa was also evacuated as a precautionary measure, however, no official reports of any damage have surfaced yet.
As per reports, the Dubai Media Office confirmed an “incident” in a building in Palm Jumeirah that resulted in a fire. “Dubai Civil Defence has confirmed that the resulting fire is now under control. Four individuals sustained injuries and have been transferred to medical facilities,” it said.
Later, Dubai authorities also mentioned that debris from an intercepted drone sparked a minor fire at the city’s iconic luxury hotel, the Burj Al Arab. In a post on X, the Dubai Media Office said, “Authorities confirm that a drone was intercepted and debris caused a minor fire on the Burj Al Arab’s outer facade.”
