The Indian boxer,Amit Panghal is bowed out today after his defeat by the Columbian boxerYuberjen Martinez in the Men’s flyweight round of 16. The score was dropped to4-1 at the end of the match.
As for the firstround, the amateur boxer was at defense for most of the time and the Rio Silvermedalist was at his best, landing punches. After the first round the no. 1 seedin flying category seemed exhausted.

In the second round,the Columbian was having an upper hand by 4 out of 5 judges. In the last round,Martinez had 10 points each by all the five judges, but Panghal managed toachieve 44.

Born in Haryana, AmitPanghal belonged to a farmer’s family, and his brother works in the IndianArmy. An amateur boxer was inspired to take up this sport at Sir ChhoturamBoxing Academy. He has secured gold in 2018 Asian Games, silver in 2018commonwealth Games and also in World Championships in 2019.
