Anupam Shyam, a veteran actor who was taken to a city hospital in Mumbai last week with a kidney infection, died on Monday from multiple organ failure, according to his buddy actor Yashpal Sharma.
The 63-year-old actor, who is well known for his roles in "Mann Kee Awaaz: Pratigya" and "Slumdog Millionaire" and "Bandit Queen," was admitted to Lifeline hospital in Goregaon four days ago.
Shyam died at the hospital, according to Mr Sharma, in the presence of his two brothers, Anurag and Kanchan.

Shyam has appeared in films like as "Satya," "Dil Se," "Lagaan," and "Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi," and has garnered critical praise for his portrayal as Thakur Sajjan Singh on "Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya," which aired on Star Plus in 2009.
