BIG shake-up in Jalandhar ED office: 13 officers transferred

This is being seen as an unusual move as usually only 2 to 3 officers are transferred from one station in a year

A big reshuffle has taken place in the Jalandhar office of the Enforcement Directorate and as many as 13 officers have been transferred from the office which is being seen as an unusual move as usually only 2 to 3 officers are transferred from one station in a year but this time a much larger number of officers across different ranks have been shifted where some of these officers had been posted in Jalandhar for less than a year.

Officials said that a similar number of new officers are yet to join and because of this there is a temporary shortage of staff in the office which may affect the pace of ongoing investigations for some time. Earlier also the Jalandhar ED office saw changes and senior officer Ravi Tiwari was transferred to Chennai and after that Dinesh Puruchuri was given additional charge of the Jalandhar office and currently handling work mainly from Delhi.

By the end of March around 12 more employees were transferred and several Assistant Directors were sent to cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Jammu and at the same time some officers have been posted to Jalandhar from Chandigarh, Jammu, Hyderabad and Bengaluru along with this at least five Enforcement Officers have also been shifted to other locations and so far only a few new officers have joined duty. A senior official said it may take around 20 to 30 days for the new team to settle and for work to return to normal speed and the official also called this large-scale reshuffle “not common.”
