The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday morning conducted a raid at the residence of Jalandhar-based real-estate businessman Chandra Shekhar Aggarwal in GTP Nagar a well-known area of the city and according to available information ED teams reached the premises early in the day and began search operations. Police personnel were also present at the location and entry for outsiders was restricted during the raid and officials are currently examining documents and other records found at the residence.
Sources said that the real-estate businessman is considered a close associate of Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora and the action is believed to be part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged land fraud and money laundering case that came to light in 2024.
However the ED has not yet issued a detailed official statement regarding the raid and the investigation is ongoing and more details are expected to emerge in the coming days.
