The infighting among partners of a well-known hotel in Jalandhar has intensified. According to sources in the known development, one of the partners who is opposing the purchase of land has given a written complaint to Jalandhar Municipal Corporation to halt any kind of construction on the land.
Following his complaint, the work was halted at the site, however, later it was resumed. On Saturday (December 20), both parties i.e. partners with majority stake holders and partners with minority stake holders continued their tussle.
However, officials of Jalandhar Municipal Corporation have refrained from commenting on the matter. The silence in the matter can be attributed to the fact that the dispute is high profile and influential individuals are associated with both sides.
The issue has started to become the talk of the town as the hotel is well known.
Sources informed True Scoop that construction at the land bought by majority stake holders in the hotel has been stopped for the time being. It is also alleged that there almost Rs 5 crore electricity bill on the land that has been bought by the majority stake holders.
For those who are unaware, two partners who are holding a majority stake in the hotel have bought a land in the area without taking other partners into confidence.
Other partners have objected to this saying that the land was purchased unilaterally and it is unsuitable as well.
Sources further suggest that the majority-stake partners also submitted documents in bank to take a loan against the land. Again partners who have minority stakes were not taken in confidence.
Hence, three other partners wrote to the bank requesting not to approve the loan. As a result, bank has halted the loan sought by the partners who have purchased the land.
