Know where the Mohali bomb threat emails are coming from

During investigation it was revealed that the IP address of the email was traced to the USA, while the recovery email address was traced to Bangladesh.

Recently, a new disturbing pattern has emerged in Punjab and Chandigarh where various schools and other public premises have been receiving bomb threats via emails. Today, sixteen schools of Mohali along with Fortis Hospital, where Punjab’s Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is currently admitted and under treatment received bomb threat mail.

Several similar cases have been noted in the past few months as well, where multiple schools across Punjab received such threats via email. The most recent case being of Mohali where prominent schools including Shivalik Public School, Paragon Senior Secondary School, Manav Mangal School, Infinite Jesus School along with others received bomb threats.

Talking about these reoccurring incidents, Mohali Superintendent of Police, Dilpreet Singh sheds some light on the source of these emails and where they were coming from.   

IP address traced to USA, Bangladesh

Talking to the media about the recent bomb threats SP Dilpreet Singh says that today, sixteen schools of Mohali along with Fortis Hospital have received bomb threat. He mentions that security has been beefed up and an investigation has taken its course. Talking about last such case, he mentions that earlier when multiple Mohali schools received bomb threat mail on February 11, the mail appeared to have been sent by some Khalistani outfit. He adds that during investigation it was revealed that the IP address of the email was traced to the USA, while the recovery email address was traced to Bangladesh.

The officer assured that protocol is being followed in the matter and everything is under control as of now.
