Meet Navdeep Kaur, Punjab’s Lady Excise Officer who became first runner-up at Mrs National 2025

In the year 2024 she suffered a severe spine injury after falling from stairs at home, and was confined to bed for nearly six months.

Navdeep Kaur is a 36‑year‑old Drugs Control (Excise) Officer who is currently posted in Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab. Navdeep belongs to an Army family and originally hails from Salimpur. Navdeep is a pharmacy graduate from Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar, she also cleared the Punjab Public Service Commission exam also it is claimed that Navdeep is counted among the youngest officers in her department.

Early life and achievements

Navdeep grew up in an Air Force household, and she has spent her childhood across air force stations in Pathankot, Kerala, Rajasthan, Meghalaya and Gujarat, which helped her incorporate discipline and a passion for challenges.

Navdeep started participating in contests from a very tender age. In her childhood she received the Bal Chitra Ratna award for painting and later won “Miss Fresher” at LPU, where she actively participated in cultural and fashion events.

Navdeep’s work and social life

- Alongside her studies and later her government job, Navdeep kept her love for acting and fashion alive, briefly moving to Mumbai to work in the television industry with channels like Colors TV and Sony TV.

- Returning to Punjab, she joined the Drugs Control wing, where her work against illegal medicine and narcotics trade earned her four commendation certificates from the state government.

Navdeep’s family ties

- The personal life of Navdeep witnessed many highs and lows, and the fact that, after her divorce, she chose the single mother way, so as to become her own idol she could follow, is really appreciable.

- In the year 2024, she got an injury in her spine specifically in the ribcage and in her lower back as she fell down stairs in her house and she was bed-bound for almost six months, with even doctors being skeptical about her ever being able to walk normally, yet she remained optimistic and regained her strength through Yoga and physio sessions.

Navdeep's remarkable journey

- Navdeep inspiringly regained her position, continued her training and took part in beauty contests at the national level and won the title of Mrs. Supranational India 2024, along with various special titles such as Best National Costume and Mrs. Global Ambassador.

– Navdeep was a participant at the Mrs. Supranational 2025 final held at Taj Vivanta in Goa, India, where she competed with contestants from 25 countries and was the first runner-up, with Russia and Ukraine also among the top contestants.

What Navdeep says 

- Navdeep says every hardship in life made her stronger and that determination can turn any obstacle into an opportunity, a belief she carried from walking on Air Force runways to owning the international ramp.

- Sent alone from Gujarat to study in Punjab so she could learn independence and her cultural roots, she now motivates other women, especially working mothers, to believe that “if you can stand alone once, you can succeed in life.”
