Nitin Kohli's efforts pay off, Chugitti Chowk gets relief as service road from Guru Nanak Pura opens

The development has been made possible due to the sustained and effective efforts of Aam Aadmi Party leader and Jalandhar Central Halka in-charge Nitin Kohli.

Residents have received major relief from traffic congestion at Chugitti Chowk with the opening of the service road from Guru Nanak Pura to Gaushala, which has been officially opened for public use from today.

The development has been made possible due to the sustained and effective efforts of Aam Aadmi Party leader and Jalandhar Central Halka in-charge Nitin Kohli.

For several years, the service road from Guru Nanak Pura to Gaushala was in a dilapidated condition, making it unfit for vehicular movement. As a result, traffic pressure remained high at Chugitti Chowk, leading to frequent jams.

Following repeated representations and coordination with the administration and concerned departments by Nitin Kohli, the road has now been reconstructed and opened, providing much-needed relief to commuters.

Speaking on the occasion, Nitin Kohli said that the Chugitti Chowk area has long been known for heavy traffic congestion. A large number of vehicles pass through the area daily, causing significant inconvenience to local residents, students, and office-goers.

Keeping this issue in mind, he repeatedly raised the demand for reopening the service road with the administration. He said that the benefits being witnessed today are a clear result of these consistent efforts.

With the opening of the service road, the pressure of vehicles at Chugitti Chowk is expected to reduce significantly, providing direct relief from daily traffic jams. Local residents, shopkeepers, students, and office-goers will benefit from smoother traffic movement. Additionally, the movement of ambulances, police vehicles, and other emergency services will become much easier than before.

“Our first priority has always been public convenience and the overall development of the area. The traffic problem at Chugitti Chowk was a matter of concern for common people. I am happy that this road has now been opened for the public. We will continue to work swiftly on other improvements and development plans in the coming time,” Nitin Kohli said.

He also thanked the department officials and said that such progress would not have been possible without administrative cooperation and teamwork.

He added that further plans would be made in the future to improve other main roads, traffic management, signage, street lighting, and road safety, ensuring smoother, safer, and more organized traffic across Jalandhar Central constituency.

On the occasion, Ward Councillor Jaswinder Billa, Manish Sharma, Sanjeev Trehan, Tarun Sikka, Goldy Marwaha, Dheeraj Seth, Sardar Hardev Singh Pannu, Gurcharan Singh, Vijay Maudgil, Amrit Kalia, Gagan Sandhu, Parmjeet Mann, Henry, Ram Lubhaya, Balbir Singh, Sunny Pradhan, Sanjeev Singh, Harjeet Singh Randhawa, Manveer Singh, Lovejeet Singh, Balwinder Kumar, Subhash Kumar, Kulwant Singh, Naresh Thakur, Kulbir, Sarwan Kumar, and other ward residents were present. SP Traffic Gurbaj Singh, SP Akashi Jain, ACP Traffic, and ACP Central Ajay Singh were also present.

Nitin Kohli said that this achievement is the result of collective efforts and a commitment to public welfare. He expressed confidence that this step will not only resolve traffic issues but also give a new direction to the area’s development. He assured that continuous efforts will be made to ensure better facilities, improved road infrastructure, and a safe travel system for the people of Jalandhar Central, leading to a more organized and modern urban environment in the long run.
