For the unversed, a complaint was filed against the Punjabi singers over their song 315 by Arvind Singh, who is a leader of Punjab BJP.
The BJP leader in his letter to DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav had highlighted two points-
Strict action should be taken against songs that promote violence, culture of illegal weapons and crime in Punjab.
Songs like 315 directly disregard the code of conduct set by the Punjab government and are misleading the youth. Such songs not only create an atmosphere of fear and violence in the society, but can also pose a threat to the law and order of the state.
This song is 3 minutes 7 seconds long. In the video, self-proclaimed social worker Bhaana Sidhu is shown acting with weapons.
One of the few lines in the song reads, "Bigdi mandir diya bhajda pavandi, 1980 di jammi 315" that means in English- Gun 315 made in 1980 to drive away enemies.
