Ruckus erupts in Jalandhar's Friends Colony over 'Guest House', man accused of hurling abuses

A dispute broke out between two parties and it soon turned heated in Jalandhar's Friends Colony on Wednesday night.

A late night ruckus erupted in Jalandhar's Friends Colony on Wednesday night. A man who was said to be drunk allegedly started hurling abuses at people strolling in the area. As a result, a dispute broke out between two parties and it soon turned heated. Upon receiving the information, the local police reached the spot.

According to colony residents, the driver and his companion suddenly approached them and began abusing them. They allege he repeatedly asked who had visited their 'guest house'.

Residents alleged that the accused was operating an illegal guest house in a residential area, where they feared misconduct. They claim that complaints have been lodged with the police regarding this guest house, but no action has been taken.

Locals demanded that the car driver and hotel owner be taken to the civil hospital for medical examination because he was in an intoxicated state. Residents said that families live in residential areas, and such hotels and suspicious activities disturb the neighbourhood environment.

On the other hand, the guesthouse owner claims that people from the colony stopped his car and assaulted him. He claims that he was not going to threaten anyone, but rather that he was attacked by a mob.

Police have begun questioning both parties in the case.
