Singer Khan Saab's mother dies in Chandigarh—Khan was on Canada tour

Relatives disclosed that her health did not get better even with ongoing treatment and she passed away during treatment.

Salma Praveen, mother of popular Punjabi singer Khan Saab, died at a private hospital in Chandigarh. She was ill for some days and was under treatment.

Singer Khan Saab is in Canada to perform these days. His concert has been postponed upon hearing of his mother's death. He is headed back to Punjab. His mother, Salma Praveen, will only be buried after he returns. 

Family sources informed that in spite of round-the-clock treatment, his health had worsened.

Salma Praveen, Khan Saab's mother and a famous Punjabi singer, died at a private hospital in Chandigarh. She was suffering for some days and was taking treatment.

Singer Khan Saab is abroad in Canada to give a performance. His performance has been cancelled on hearing the news of his mother's death. He is coming back to Punjab. His mother Salma Praveen will be cremated only after her return.

Family sources indicated that her condition did not show any improvement despite ongoing treatment, and she passed away during treatment.

Relatives and close colleagues claim that Khan Saab had a strong attachment to his mother and used to talk about her on public platforms. He used to post videos with her on social media as well.

Born in Kapurthala, his name Khan Saab was given to him

Singer Khan Saab was born in Kapurthala, Punjab. His original name is Imran Khan. During an album recording with Punjabi singer Garry Sandhu, Sandhu changed his name to Khan Saab.

Khan Saab himself disclosed this on Kapil Sharma's show. He has been working in the Punjabi music industry under the same name ever since.
