Swami Sant Dass Public School clash: Violent fight among students leaves one seriously injured

The fight reportedly started after an earlier argument between two students inside the classroom

A youth was seriously injured after a violent clash broke out between school students outside Swami Sant Dass Public School in JP Nagar area of Jalandhar and according to information the incident took place outside Gate No. 4 of the school after dismissal and the fight reportedly started after an earlier argument between two students inside the classroom.

Dispute turned violent

The injured student’s family said that a teacher had earlier tried to settle the matter between the students however after school hours the dispute turned violent and the family has alleged that a Class 12 student attacked their son along with a few others.

Attacked with sharp-edged weapon

The victim’s mother claimed that her son was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon and suffered deep head injuries and after the incident other students took the injured boy home and his mother said she was shocked to see him covered in blood and immediately took him to the hospital for treatment.

Police probe on

After getting his wounds dressed the family returned to the school and informed the police who reached the spot and started an investigation. The father of the injured student said he rushed home after getting a call from his wife and found his son badly injured and also alleged that weapons like kirpans were used in the attack and further claimed that the other side is now trying to pressure them for a compromise but he has refused.

Injured under medical care

The victim’s family has also accused the school administration of not taking responsibility and not responding properly to their concerns and further said that even after the incident the other student and his family had not come forward. A police official confirmed that they have received a complaint about the attack and are investigating the matter and the injured student is currently under medical care.
