Why is it so cold?

The main reason behind the differences in temperatures of Faridkot and other places is the coming winters and the geographical location of Faridkot. Faridkot is experiencing chills like winters because, cold winds that blow from the north and clear skies that let more heat escape at night.

Faridkot continues to be the coldest, while other districts too show a dip: Amritsar 10.3°C, Ludhiana 13.0°C, Patiala 13.1°C. There was no rain, and this chilled weather is due to changes in the atmosphere rather than rainfall. The citizens of Faridkot get up with a very chilled morning these days

Winters arrived well in advance due to the fall of minimum temperature to 6.5°C. The data of the weather department suggests further continuance of this cold wave and hence, people must take precautions and keep themselves warm.

In all, Faridkot recorded the minimum temperature of 6.5°C, which is the lowest in Punjab today. Other districts were around 9° to 13° but did not dip as low as Faridkot. Atmospheric reasons were the cause of the cold wave rather than rainfall. The cold is here to stay, and citizens are advised to keep themselves warm. This sudden drop in temperature has given Faridkot a December-like chill with most caught off-guard by the early taste of winter. Where last year, Bathinda was the coldest district of Punjab; surprisingly during the summers of 2025, Bathinda indicated the highest temperatures. Even after being part of the same state, Punjab, the temperatures show a varied difference in temperatures.
