The NEET UG Re-Exam conducting on the 21st June 2026 is the most important exam conducted by the National Testing Academy (NTA). After the one got leaked, NTA is taking extra precautions for the fair and successful conduction of this exam. Ahead of this the District Magistrate of Amritsar Dalwinderjit Singh has issued orders imposing restrictions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023 around all 11 examination centres in the district.

According to the orders, during the examination scheduled from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM on June 21, 2026, the gathering of five or more persons within a radius of 100 metres of any examination centre will be prohibited. The use of loudspeakers, public address systems, sound amplification devices, and any other noise-generating equipment will also be strictly banned in the vicinity of the examination centres. The District Magistrate has directed the Commissioner of Police, Amritsar City, and the Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar Rural, to ensure strict enforcement of these orders. The administration has made all necessary arrangements to maintain the transparency, security, and integrity of the examination process

The district administration has requested the candidates, parents, and the general public to fully cooperate with the authorities and comply with the issued orders to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination. Officials have warned that any violation of these restrictions will invite strict legal action as per the provisions of the law. The administration reiterated that the measures have been taken solely to maintain a peaceful environment around examination centres and to ensure that candidates can take the examination without any disturbance or inconvenience.

Also a nationwide mockdrill was performed on June 20th,2026 ahead of the exam as an effort to ensure smooth functioning and transparent conduct of the medical exam. Approximately 22 Lakh students will appear for the exam on 21st June2026. The NTA said it is fully prepared for the re-examination with district administrations, police forces and escort teams tasked with securely transporting confidential materials to exam centres.
