Hours after the news of legendary actor Dharmendra’s death broke, fans across the country revisited one particular post on his Instagram page a reflective message he had shared on September 26. What once appeared to be a simple, poetic moment has now taken on the weight of a final goodbye.
In the post, Dharmendra shared a serene photograph of himself dressed in a blue suit, sitting calmly with a faint smile. Alongside it, he wrote a contemplative couplet in Hindi:
“Aajkal gham-e-dauran se door, gham-e-duniya se door… apne hi nashe mein jhomta hoon.”
Dharmendra, 89, passed away at his Mumbai residence after a brief illness. But online, it is this September 26 message that has become the emotional centre of public mourning. For many, it is not just another celebrity post it is a window into the heart of a man who lived with grace, spoke in poetry, and left the world with a final line that echoes long after him.
Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on October 31, 2025, after he complained of breathlessness.
