Punjabi actor and bodybuilding champion Varinder Singh Ghuman passed away on Thursday night, after experiencing a cardiac arrest during his medical treatment at Amritsar Hospital in Punjab. 

Varinder’s height was 6.2 feet and his weight was around 140 kilograms. Ghuman had a tall and athletic frame since his school days.

As per reports, Varinder Singh Ghuman wanted to become a cricketer and played as a fast bowler for his school team. However, his father didn’t want him to pursue cricket and encouraged him to take up athletics instead, hoping it would help him join the police force.

He was popularly known as ‘The He-Man of India.’ In 2009, he won the Mr. India title and also secured second place in the Mr. Asia competition. Beyond bodybuilding, Varinder also made his mark in the film industry.

He appeared in Punjabi films as well as Bollywood’s Tiger 3 alongside Salman Khan. He had a passion for cars and tattoos.

A tattoo enthusiast, Varinder had a snake tattoo on his right arm and the Onkar symbol tattooed on the middle finger of his left hand. Whenever he won a competition, he would first show his snake tattoo and then proudly display the Onkar tattoo on his finger. Despite being a professional bodybuilder, Varinder was a vegetarian.

What happened to Varinder Singh Ghuman?

Varinder Singh Ghuman was exercising at his gym in Model House, Jalandhar. Suddenly, a nerve in his shoulder was compressed. His condition worsened and he was admitted to the hospital. However, doctors referred him to Amritsar, where he died during treatment.

Born in Talwandi, Gurdaspur, Varinder Singh Ghuman moved to Jalandhar. He then earned an MBA from Lyallpur Khalsa College. He was a professional bodybuilder and actor. Ghumman worked with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in Tiger 3 and also starred in Mr. India.
