Several prominent leaders and institutions received fresh bomb threats on 1st July 2026 I.e. Wednesday. They include including Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, the Ambala-Delhi railway track, and multiple schools in Chandigarh. The email reportedly warned students against attending Independence Day parade on August 15.
Threat to Chandigarh institutions
Chandigarh once again received bomb threats through an email. The email includes the threat to Chandigarh schools and Schools in Sector 37 and Sector 47 are among the prime targets. The police authorities immediately started investigating about the case and took necessary action to prevent any mishap.
For precautions, both the schools were evacuated Appropriate safety measures for teachers, students and parents are taken. Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) teams, Dog Squads, Fire Brigade personnel, and Quick Response Teams (QRTs) were rushed to the affected locations.
The searches were conducted thoroughly, and officials continued to monitor the situation closely to rule out any potential security risk. Elaborated investigation of both the campuses have been held but no suspicious thing or any kind of explosive material is found by now.
Senior leaders also under target
Apart from institutions, many senior leaders also have received threat emails. The email includes big names like Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. The email also points towards Ambala-Delhi railway track. This has made security officials more vigilant about the loctions.
Over the past several months, Chandigarh has witnessed multiple incidents of bomb threat emails targeting schools, government offices, hospitals, and other public institutions. In most previous cases, detailed searches found no explosives, and the threats were later declared hoaxes.
Details of the threat
The bomb threat emails are sent by The Khalistan National army. According to the message sent, the schools will be targeted at 1:11 PM and CM Saini’s Haryana office at 3:11 PM. It also mentions Khalsa to take possession of Chandigarh and Haryana
The investigation is underway and officials have requested public to stay calm. Security has been tightened for these locations and actions will be taken based on the finding of the cyber probe
