For the past few days, national media outlets have been running stories claiming that “The Great Khali Returns to WWE After 8 Years.” But WWE Hall of Famer Dalip Singh Rana, known worldwide as The Great Khali, has clarified the truth in an exclusive interview with True Scoop News host Khushboo Verma.
Khali said he is not going back to WWE. Instead, he is preparing for a huge wrestling event under his own company, Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE), on January 25, 2026.
The confusion began after national and local news reports mentioned Khali’s return to the ring. Fans on social media assumed it meant WWE, remembering his last match against Braun Strowman at WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018. Khali laughed off the rumors and said, “The national media misunderstood, it’s not WWE; it’s my own CWE.” He explained that announcements from his Mohali-based wrestling academy were misunderstood as a WWE comeback.
Talking about his WWE journey, Khali said he left in 2014 due to contract issues, injuries from hip surgeries, and differences with how his character was used. “WWE gave me everything, they made me World Champion,” he said. “But I wanted to do something bigger, bring wrestling to India and give new wrestlers a platform.”
Since opening CWE in 2015, Khali has trained numerous wrestlers including Shanky and Kavita Devi who progressed on to WWE. He was pretty clear as to the fact that he won't go back to full-time WWE, though one or two special occasions are a different case altogether.
The Ultimate Show of Strength on January 25, 2026, at the Wedlock Arena in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. He faces former WWE and AEW wrestler Parker Boudreaux, a man known for his size and power. “Parker challenged me, and I’ll defend India’s honor,” Khali said.
The event will also include wrestlemanias such as Q.T. Marshall, Sam Adonis, Satnam Singh, and Indian wrestlemanias such as JT Baba. Fans can eagerly await action-packed battles, immense energy, and a sense of pride in Punjabi power. Khali went on to extend this similarity to include working in WWE, just like McMahon.
Tickets are already available on khalicwe.com and ukwe.in, with general seat prices beginning at Rs 3,000 and going up to Rs 17,000 for ringside seats. Offline bookings will begin shortly, and corporate sponsorships are also available. The gates will open at 6 PM, and the matches begin at 8 PM.
“Khali urges fans in Dhanbad to join him. "Come watch the action live-this is just a beginning.”
The story of The Great Khali has, in fact, come full circle-from WWE champion to the founder of CWE. "WWE is my past," he said. "CWE is my future."
